SeppalaStrain

Seppala Strain

The term Seppala strain refers to the pure-strain descendants of the sleddogs of Leonhard Seppala found in the Siberian Husky stud books of the major umbrella all-breed registries such as the American Kennel Club and the Canadian Kennel Club. These dogs were referred to as "Seppala Siberians" to distinguish them from other Siberian Huskies as early as 1940, since the Siberian Husky Club of America, founded in 1938, had already begun to promote their Siberians as show dogs, breeding them away from the original Seppala type and bloodlines.
