Bruce Morrow

Bruce Morrow of Parksville, British Columbia, took over the Uelen kennel name from Betsy Bush after the Markovo dispersal sale in 1975. He acquired a major group of Seppalas in the dispersal sale. Morrow bred several litters of pure Seppala Siberians during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Gradually he came under the influence of Doug Willett, who more or less took over the Uelen dogs and breeding programme. Morrow died not long afterward in a work-related accident.

In spite of the relatively small amount of Morrow's breeding, the Uelen Kennels influence was considerable in the history of the Seppala Siberian Sleddog just prior to its separation from the Siberian Husky breed. Such dogs as Uelen's Beowulf of Sepp-Alta, Uelen's Ali, Uelen's Baron of Sepp-Alta, and Uelen's Ebony of Sepp-Alta became permanent major genetic influences in the SSSD.
